SocialCentiv is an incredible social media tool that I had never heard of before this project. It launched in March 2013 with a goal to create conversations between customers and business owners. Companies/businesses track their feed and offer monetary and discount awards when they see customers asking for suggestions. For instance, this:

The thing I really love about SocialCentiv is that it is entirely for the good of both the customer and business owner. Businesses are able to help their customers by simply looking at a feed and offering discounts. Below is a screenshot of the news feed. At signup, you type in key words related to your businesses so that you track relatable content. SocialCentiv provides reports on your conversations, prospects, referrals and offers.

SocialCentiv has a resourceful and innovative blog:

They give out information to help business owners, such as these pointers:

• 80% of sales are lost due to poor follow up (Harper College). SocialCentiv automatically follows up via email after a customer engages with you the first time

• How to listen on social media

• Start with Twitter. SocialCentiv has paired up with Twitter because it is in real time. It functions very much like texting in that you listen, respond and repeat. It’s convenient and it’s effective.

How it differs from Social Mention:

“It allows you to easily track and measure what people are saying about you, your company, a new product, or any topic across the web’s social media landscape in real-time. Social Mention monitors 100+ social media properties directly including: Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed, YouTube, Digg, Google etc.”

• Social Mention tells you the strength, sentiment, passion and reach of your content. It gives you percentages and other analytics, but it differs in that SocialCentiv directly connects the customer and company by creating incentives and facilitating interaction.
