Michael Brito starts his post “Where Most Got Social Business All Wrong Including Me” by stating that a business must have a reason for using social media, and I couldn’t agree more. If a company simply exists on social media and doesn’t have a reason, then they aren’t doing anything to help their business. They must create a meaningful presence and purpose on the web in order to compete in today’s social society.
Another point Brito made that I think is most important for a company to create a consistent brand identity on all different sites. It is really frustrating and confusing when companies create a different name and identity on 3 or 4 different social media sites, and it is confusing to get correct information when it is listed in so many different ways. It can be a simple difference such as having a different page name on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram that can cause frustration.
